Or if you’re like me, you’re combing the interwebs to try and learn as much as you can before your camera even ships. This video will help you get started.
The exposure triangle is one of the most common ways of remembering how to balance your exposure. Whether you’re shooting video or photos, understanding the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO are critical in achieving your desired results.
First, we will go over how to read your light meter on your camera which allows you to calculate your exposure. Then well take a look at how each element of the triangle affects the your exposure as well as the unique ways each element can change the way your image looks.
Here is a little cheat sheet to the right that you can download to your phone to help you remember the basics. I recommend flipping your camera over to manual and just playing around around for a while. Nothing is going to help you become a master of your tool more than using it over and over again.
