With apps like Snapchat, vine and now IGTV, vertical video is clearly exploding. As more and more content is consumed on mobile devices, the vertically oriented screen is quickly becoming a video format standard. Knowing that, content creators are eagerly diving into this new creative space, but the challenge with most cameras is that they aren’t really designed to shoot video in that format.
As a creator myself, I decided to comb through my old pile of dusty gear to see if I could get creative. The goal was to figure out a more natural and ergonomic way to shoot vertical video with my A7R III. What I came up with I was extremely simple and cost me virtually nothing.
